Help
Get paid
Tap Request on Home to share your pay link or @handle. People on Imprest pay you by name. To move money in from an exchange or another app, open Request → From an exchange or another app.
From an exchange or another app
Open Request → From an exchange or another app, or Money → Add money → From an exchange. In the exchange, choose Withdraw, pick USDC and the Base network, and paste your Base address from Exchange details. Send only USDC on the Base network. Money sent in another currency or on another network can be lost. If the exchange doesn’t offer USDC on Base, don’t send. Check the exchange’s minimum: smaller amounts can be lost. Send a small amount first and check it arrives. If your exchange asks, this is a self-hosted wallet you own, called Imprest.
Add money
Open Money → Add money. Card, Apple Pay and bank transfer top-ups go through MoonPay or Transak, which checks your identity and shows its fees before you pay; the money arrives as US dollars. If they aren’t available yet, add money from an exchange.
Balance and activity
Your balance shows your dollars in your chosen currency and stays visible offline. Pull down to refresh. Other holdings show separately.
Pay
Open Pay, choose someone by name, @handle or pay link, enter an amount, check the fee, then approve with Face ID or your passcode. Imprest can’t reverse a payment once it’s sent. To pay an exchange or another app, paste its Base address and check it in full before you approve. Until Imprest can cover fees, paying needs a little ETH on the Base network for the fee; Pay shows how to add it.
@handles and pay links
Choose an @handle in Profile so people on Imprest can pay you by name, and share your pay link from Request. Anyone who opens this link in Imprest, and any agent asked to pay it, receives this account’s Base address so the money can arrive. With it they can see the account’s balance and payment history on the public record. A link without your name pays the same account as your @handle.
Sent on the wrong network or currency?
Money sent to your Base address in another currency on Base, such as USDT, USDbC or EURC, shows under Other holdings on the account; Ether shows there too and can be converted to dollars. For other currencies, contact support. Money sent to your Base address on another network, such as Ethereum, Arbitrum, Optimism or Polygon, doesn’t show in Imprest, but it isn’t lost: the same recovery phrase opens that address in wallet apps that support that network. Contact support and we’ll help. If an exchange sent on a network that doesn’t use 0x addresses, the money didn’t reach you; ask the exchange.
A payment hasn’t arrived
Pull down on Home or Activity to refresh. Tap a payment to see its status. If it says Checking payment, check it before paying again so you don’t pay twice. If money from an exchange hasn’t arrived, check it was sent as USDC on the Base network to the Base address in Exchange details.
Manage accounts and statements
Open Manage on the home screen or inside an account to rename it, share its pay link or Exchange details, see fees and agent limits, and prepare a statement. Open Activity → Statements for a PDF or CSV of each month. Completed months are saved on this iPhone. Statements list payments in and out of your dollar balance; Ether and other holdings aren’t included.
Imprest on the web
Open Manage → Imprest on the web, get a sign-in code and enter it at app.imprest.dev within five minutes. The browser can view the account and statements for seven days; payments stay on your iPhone. Sign it out from either place.
Your recovery phrase
Your recovery phrase is 12 words that restore your account if you lose this iPhone. Write them on paper, in order, and keep them private: anyone with them can move your money. Imprest can’t recover them for you. To restore on another iPhone, choose I have a recovery phrase when you open Imprest, then add your accounts in the same order; account names and agent settings aren’t part of the phrase.
Agents and deletion
Open an account → Agents to add an agent, set what it can do and remove access. Each payment request still needs your approval. To delete the account’s agent-service data, use Settings → Privacy → Manage service data. This doesn’t delete your accounts, your money or your payment history.
Display currency
USD is the default. You can show amounts in another currency in Settings; this doesn’t convert your dollars. Your balance counts your dollars only; other holdings are shown separately with their approximate value.
Converting Ether to dollars
If your account holds Ether, open it under Other holdings and choose Convert to dollars. Conversions run through Uniswap. Check the rate, the least you’ll receive and the fee, then approve. Rates expire after a minute, and the conversion stops if the price moves past the minimum shown.
